In this series, I like to post the things I have enjoyed the most this week. It could be an item, a song, a playlist, could be anything. I try to publish one every Monday.
As I said last week, I was sunning it up in the South of France when the last post went live. I thought I would use this week to show the highlights of my trip. Back to normal programming next week!
1. Antibes
Antibes was an amazingly old and rustic french town with amazing views of the sea. The winding streets and cute little shops made for a good afternoon of exploring. And the ice cream was amazing!
2. Cannes
Cannes was more than I thought it would be. A beautiful town tucked into the riviera with a fort and of course, the shimmering blue sea. Wandering around here, I shopped a little and bought a beautiful dress (I buy one every time I go to France!), and had an amazing Italian dinner in the old town. My favourite part was taking a boat out to Ile-Sainte-Margarite and enjoying the beach and the old fort on that island too. There were lot of forts in the area!
3. Cagnes-sur-Mer
Cagnes-sur-Mer was where I stayed during my trip. From the villa, we had an amazing view of Nice, the sea and the surrounding area. From my balcony, I could see planes taking off in the distance. This little villa was set on the hill of an old castle which now had lots of amazing little restaurants in it. That hill everyday though! My calves have never looked so good! 😛
4. Monaco
We had a day trip to Monaco one of the days and saw the Palace of the Grimaldi’s and learnt a little history of Monaco (or Mon-ARRR-co as the man was saying on the audio tour!). This was by far the most surreal place I have ever been. Clean streets, a little train to take you around and lifts everywhere. It reminded me of Epcot, one of the park in Disneyland Florida! So crazy nice and the super yachts in the marina were the things of dreams.
5. Beaulieu-sur-Mer
Finally, a little sea side highlight – Beaulieu-sur-Mer. I enjoyed this beach as it was not sand, nor rocks but gravel. Doesn’t sound nice but no issues with sand everywhere and no compromising on comfort. This beach was hot, had a lifeguard and roped off area and was fairly quiet. It was nice to relax and read my book on this beach and a good start to the week of adventure.
And that’s it for this week. 🙂
