In this series, I like to post the things I have enjoyed the most this week. It could be an item, a song, a playlist, could be anything. I publish one every Monday.
1. #ZSLZooNights
Starting off with maybe my favourite thing this week! This Friday gone, I went along to one of the London Zoo Nights. This was spectacular. The zoo stayed open past normal opening hours for some Adults only fun. We got to go around the park with less crowds (and kids) than normal and see the animals. There was also street food stalls and specialised alcoholic drinks. I had Penguin Punch and it was amazing! As these beautiful creatures need their sleep, most of them went to bed around 9pm. The park stayed open until 10pm with a festival-style village and acrobatics! Such an amazing atmosphere and to make sure we didn’t wake the animals, clapping was banned – we clapped in sign language – Jazz Hands!
2. Four Winters – Soho
After a wonderful lunch with my friend Becca on Saturday, we went to get desert at Four Winters in Soho. Specialising in ice-cream, they have 3 stores in the UK and they have a very unique way of preparing the ice cream. They use liquid nitrogen and do it right in front of you from liquid in minutes! Awesome. They have 4 different menu’s and the lights on the wall tell you which ‘season’ we are in. I had a strawberry ice cream and it was incr-EDIBLE! :p I will be back….every day….for a month!
3. Gibbons Rent
Sunday was an exploring day. I hired a Boris bike and took to the streets of London to have a little mooch. One of my favourite places I visited was Gibbons Rent by London Bridge. The alleyway is a collaborative project where anyone can put a plant, there is even a guide on the wall near the entrance advising you on conditions depending on your plant. You can walk down here and there are benches and a beautiful view of the Shard. Such a nice peaceful haven in a chaotic city. Definitely worth a look if you are in the area.
4. Homemade Pizza
Inspiration called last Tuesday. I wanted to make pizza. And boy did I. I found a recipe for Pizza dough, made my way to the shop and bought some yeast! I made 3 Pizzas for our little flat, all vegetable. And they were so yummy! I have linked the dough recipe here.
5. Blossom Tea
Finally on my list of loves, Blossom tea. I have been meaning to try this out for a few weeks now but never quite got around to it, until now. This is a Chinese flowering tea from a shop in China Town. I couldn’t tell you much about it, only that it is green tea, it starts off as a ball and is very good for you. When you pour hot water over it, it starts to expand from that ball and grow into the pictures below. Aside from being very pretty, I quite like the fresh taste of this tea. It is definitely only for those people that like the taste of green tea though!
And that’s it for this week 🙂
